Not sure how your research works. Unless you are using a different part to one I just purchased.

The original part has a hole that is just big enough to let the knob through but small enough to stop the wider backing of the knob though the hole. This is what holds it on. Your reproduction part has a hole that is so big it lets the entie knob through which is useless. Your photos do look like the correct size. But the one I bouht is not.

Would love the reproduction one you have tested. It appears to be correct.
