A HQ Statesman I picked up from a mate who rescued it from a padock and a tree.

That is almaost identical to my first drive car I used to drive to school in. Mine was a T-bar with brown rather than beige trim, but the outside was the same colour. It had extractors and straight through exhaust, no mufflers. Was as loud as you could ever imagine, and used to resonate at about 3000rpm to get even louder!
Speaking of HQ Statesmans, I found a Deville last week in Cordovan (a HR purple) with 18M trim. It is a fully loaded car, 350, TH400, air, steer, power windows, T-bar etc. I hope to convince the owner to let me buy the firewall cut and doors when he has removed the running gear for a HQ coupe. I want the harness and doors for a future project.
That is a very good save. Hq's are really cool, great to see.

350 Statesmans are still good value, they do pull reasonable $ as people still wreck themout for their original bits (like the one I mentioned) but still worth grabbing. Just a shame the HJ Caprice never got the engine it was meant to (which was significantly bigger than a 350).
