Repairing GTS dash fascia

Also after info on the warning lights for a HX GTS dash.

Are the warning lights - Handbrake and separately Brake Fail??

What colour are the warning lights?? If someone has a close up image (showing lense colour and font)
of this I would appreciate as I have a butchered dash I am trying to restore.

Wayne, there is no paint code for the black as it is unpainted black plastic. The HX warning lights are handbrake and brake and are red diffused lenses.

When painting plastic you need to use a plastic adhesion primer first so your top colour doesn't peel off.

Went to have a look at a HX sandman van today that I know about thats for sale. Here is a pic of the dash warning lights.

Absinth - fantastic job on the refurbishment of the fascia!

A couple questions;
Chokes were not original - is that correct?
Should there be a silver line on the outer edge on both the black only or silver fascias?

No manual choke on V8 Sandmans and yes there should be a silver border on both the all black and silver painted fascia's.

dash warning light colours. Your testing my memory there.

HJ - a red one with "brake" and a Blue high beam (healight image)
HX - a red one with "brake" and a blank red one (used for handbrake)
HZ - a red one with "brake" and a red one with "park brake"

Each model also had different fonts. HJ and HX where the same. HZ had a not so Bold font.

Not 100% on the above. Have a feeling that HX had brake fail maybe? pretty sure that they had a blank red one though. There was an ADR change that introduced the seperate waring light for the handbrake and brake fail. HJ used the "brake" for both. In HX the high beam moved to the speedo.
