What about them? They are all XX7's, if they weren't they wouldn't be a Sandman.

I wouldn't worry all that much about originality if you are putting and EFI 304 in it! When you get closer to doing it i'll give you some tips about how to do things with the EFI conversion to avoid making irreversible changes
Indeed theres a garage to be rearranged to make way for her......she'll be sharing space with her matching trailer!!
The procedure for dis assembly is already underway ..... bodywork will take priority, then the chassis and running gear.
You know i'll be here Blocker.... i'll be flying the HQ flag proudly, you HJ,X,Z guys have had it too good for too long!![]()
Funny thing is, all the HJ-HZ guys will be jealous as hell! Even if they won't admit it!
Good on ya Alien. Go the EFI. HQs can be a pig to drive if you havent replaced everything and made it comfy and drivable. A gofast yet reliable and economical engine is one step to making it that ace car you dreamed it would be. Byron will sort you out. He was a great help to me when i put the EFI in my VH.
Thanks Hainzy!I think the good lady wife might get jealous with the amount of TLC the van will get hahahah
Mate we still have to catch up for a few beers and a yarn or two.....hopefully soon mate!![]()
Great score Alien,
I see you've updated your tag, the colour must have been a karma thing.
Cheers Mark

Beggars cant be choosers when it comes to hq sandman colours i guess![]()
Start trolling around wrecking yards for a Commodore fuel tank with integral EFI pump, and start looking at how it'll fit into the HQ without modding anything except for hold-down straps. This way you avoid external pump and swirl pot mounts. If I were you I'd find a crashed ute or van chassis and just cut it and keep the bit between the rear of cab crossmember and the rear shocks crossmember, this way you can play with making up a mounting arrangement that fits under the van rear floor, and get a filler for the new tank added. I have a circuit here that will allow a Commodore fuel sender to operate a late HQ fuel guage. Believe me, this sounds hard but will save you lots of heartache later. The way I like to see these cars done means mods to the RH inner guard but just use another guard for this. The biggest hassle is how to get the wiring through the firewall.
