    Ive already started contemplating the fuel system..with return lines etc etc. Thats a fantastic idea with the commo fuel tank.....all integrated That said, it'll be easier when the shell is off and the chassis is exposed.

    Something like this perhaps?

    Possibly one of those will work. Just put a new pump in and it'll last for a long time. I tried a V8 VN tank in a HX 1-tonner and it fitted, but it was right up under the tray. I can't recall how far there is between the rails and the tray on a ute/van, although you aren't constrained by the tonner's side plates (where the fuel filler goes through). If you get the tank up high enough it can sit a bit over the tailshaft, and pass the exhaust underneath if need be.

    i always advertise VN VP sedan fuel tanks on the mini truck forums as they make a good conversion for those and they sell.

    your sandman is XX7 but its not stamped on the plate,his point was all HQ sandmans are XX7 he didnt say they were all stamped XX7 confused ???

    Thanks b rock 05 and thatotherguy? Mine is an Adelaide build and doesnt have XX7 Stamped on it? From all reports on the website it is a Sandman.

    Thank god i just picked myself up off the floor, i am 98% complete on my HQ sandman resto,and have spent a load of cash and time , and i hope to have it at the AHD in August and would have been quite dissapointed to say the least, Thanks for the clarification.
