    Rego Labels Gone in NSW

I can't decide if its a good idea or not. Can see issues here with unpaid registration due to several vehicles all falling due at different times of the year. 6 lots of rego to get paid on time. I can see some slipping through the cracks.

I assume they are getting rid of the labels? I can only imagine that nearly every cop car has lic plate recognition computer now, might make it easy for people that have 2 cars the same, i have a mate that swaps no. plates on the 2 cars that he owns, same make, year and colour. But i imagine you blokes still have to get your annual roadworthies and isurance slips? I have b payed my rego in vic for the last 5 years so i can only imagine the label is a formality now as the cops could pick the colour of the label if it was out of date.

Been in place in SA for 6 months, and in WA for more than a year.
Biggest problem was/is people were getting pulled over and fined because the rego dept computers were not updating the police computers fast enough. There was about 4 week lag, the cops wouldn't call rego dept. so you had to get the receipt (if you didn't have it in the car with you) and produce it at the court to get the fine removed.

It's a bugger for those of us interstate, we have to ring up for every damn one to check it's expiry.
Annoys the people because it takes a few minutes.
The govt is saving mony by not printing lables, how much do they discount your rego?
If you are going interstate take your rego certificate with you.
Nah, I'm just driving around looking for someone with licence.

Still have label's here, no mention of anything yet. Apart from the possible increase in registration price of course.

Think biggest problem is forgetting to pay for the renewal.. just can't check sticker to see when its due anymore.

everyone hates it over here, there is talk of bring the labels back.

Cars are being sold claiming to be lic, but are unlic... "Meet me at the BP servo, etc."

pretty simple to check it out as long as you have the net...problem already is my cars are registered for resale as a dealer and when i bring up the details it says they have extra money to pay as a warning to potential buyers...WTF?..its not pension rego its a normal transfer.
