Decals on WB Van (HZ Mock up)

    Hi, new here.

Just wondering if anyone has put on or seen any HQ-HJ sandman decals on a HX-HZ Van?
Im am currently restoring a WB Van but with HZ bits and I'm toying with the idea of decals. I really like the HQ-HX Decals and think that it would look good.

Also i have never applied a decal of this size is there anyone in the adelaide area that anyone could recommend to apply them if i decide that they are a go.

Here are some pics of my van. http://gallery.oldholden.com/mook/

    Cheers in advance.

Welcome mook - from one crow eater to another!

Nice pics you have there, feel free to share more. I've never seen a WB panel van with the HQ-HJ type decals, sure is an interesting idea.

The guys here will definitely lend a hand, very friendly community here.

Where in Adelaide are you and who is doing your panel work? I'm yet to start mine, I am in the dismantling and scratching head mode at the moment.

This HZ ute was on Ebay last week and has been done up as a HJ Sandman replica. I was actually surprised no one bid on it for the $5000 start price with no reserve... would have been good buying at that price.

    Decal finish

I was wondering what is the finish of the decals, will it look gloss or semi gloss?
I was actually planning on painting the van HJ Jamaican Lime. With blackouts around the windscreen, doors, upper tailgate and possibly the vents in the guards, all under the clear coat.

I have a Premier front for it and GTS spoiler. i was also thinking of putting on HX bumpers with no rubbers. I also have managed to get my hands on a full length rooflining (original) to make the new one. I also have a Woodgrain GTS dash thats going in.

Probably alot more to mention but ill try to post some more photos as i go.

All of the bodywork is being Redone at Autocraft Collision & Crash Repairs. I purchased the van as a partially completed project with was apparently ready for paint.

These Guys are great, the best service i have ever got. They take photos of all the work they have done and are more than happy to explain everything to me.

    They are at lonsdale.

Thanks mook. I am nearly at the body work stage and looking at a few options, but always good to get real feedback! I'll give them a call.

I'm up Modbury way so Lonsdale is a bit of a hike :errf:

    Gday,

I just gotta' add... Whilst in the Lonsdale Industrial complex building your vehicle, I recommend staying away from Lonsdale Engine & Cyclinder Head Reconditioners & Carbitune.

A great company to deal with tho, is Advanced Auto Salvage (They changed names a couple of years ago) They're just up from Stratco, on that side of the lights.

    Cheers
