I'd say that is pretty well said, and not a bad first up explanaton. Of course you have to throw into the mix the running gear, restored or survivor or condition otherwise. And then the ute vs van thing. And then after that personal preference. Two examples:

I'd love a survivor Sandman, proper survivor in a condition like my Premier, or a concours resto. BUT They can be a pain. In the end I'd rather a restoration like Rod and Jennies yellow van as it was built very well and built to use. If I got one that wasn't a 308 i'd put one in.

Personally, I'd want a 308 auto HQ or HJ Sandman ute. But if two otherwise identical utes came up, say a HZ or a HX, and the HZ was a 253 or 308 manual and the HX was a 308 auto, i'd take the HX for the same $.

Others wil think otherwise, and that is good!
