Good choice. It's been getting pretty good reviews and with a starting price of 30k it looks like bloody good value for money. I can see myself in one in a few years once the second hand market is down to my level too.

I wanted a decently priced RWD or AWD car that has decent performance that doesn't look like a gay Autobot (WRX and Ralliart Lancer to name a few). The CV8 fitted the bill originally and happened to be a Monaro - even better. I have looked at SSV and V8 Calais V but they are WAY overpriced for what they are. I think this car will do the job, and being a lightweight 2 door with 147kW boxer engine it should go OK, and it looks like it handles good too. It is for my Mrs to drive everyday. I'd buy a top spec 6spd auto, so it'll probably by around $40k, at that price I can keep the CV8 parked in the back shed! And this way I don't have to have a sh!tbox V6 which many semi-performance cars seem to have nowadays - still planning on sticking a GenIII into my SR5 to get rid of the V6. I'd still rather it than the awful 3.0L diesel, but it is still not powerful enough for a 4x4 SR5!

After watching a bunch of videos of it, im sure it'll be a fun drive and could hold its own on the streets.....but i cant get past the way it looks...ie: just like any other new car on the market......and thats unfortunate. Still looks like a fruity Autobot

Yes it will be, but then it'll be a turbo which I don't want and it'll look gay with boonet scoops etc. It is about RX7 series III size and weight by the look of it. The base spec in $29990 but it has the unfortunate name of GT. Luckily the top spec model at $35480 is called GTS, and we all know a GTS is better than a GT - well they were when they were direct race track competitors ie 1968-1969! The GTS with 6spd auto is $38,000 and that'll be us. As a bonus with the auto you get better economy (by the standard test) but it is a little slower, but that doesn't bother us. The Subaru version will be the GTS version, but will be harder to get.

Traction control (which can be turned off)
Dual zone climate air
Heated seats
Leather sides on seats
17" alloys
Blue-tooth

the problem we had was finding something with a decent towing capacity without going 4WD, so we bought an SV6 which is great on the open road but a bit harsh around the city, i would have gone for a V8 but we have a young driver in our family and he wouldnt be able to drive it
Falcon ute or a secondhand VZ 1-tonner or Crewman. I wouldn't tow with a non leaf spring car unless it was a big coil sprung 4x4 like a Patrol.
I have just traded our ex ambo VZ adventra Lx6, it was an excellent for towing, heavy duty rear springs, 215kw powerchip, 5 speed auto with trans cooler, pulled the our boat as if it wasnt there, Traded on a prado gxl 3.0 must admit not fast, but it also tows very well, our boat is about 1.6t fully loaded with fuel.Originally Posted by HK1837
