    They are not temperamental. The diodes dry out and thats why they stop working. The diodes are about 5 cents each. There is maybe two hours work in replacing them. Thats unless there is a mechanical fault as well, but its always the diodes.
    The one in my WB has been going strong since 1984 by the way. So just goes to show that once again, WB really is the Worlds Best.

    Exactley right... I bet that if mine came with the U17 dash the clock would still be working.. lol

    It's an easy answer tie your clock up with fishing line and burn paraffin wax below the clock
