I can see it now.." Nah mate I bought that in with me this morning."
I had a mate who used to steal paint in 10 litre ( I think ) tins from building sites by piling a bit of sand on the lid making it look like they were empty tins with sand in them.
Used to walk straight past everyone.
Nah, I'm just driving around looking for someone with licence.

Really... you lose that amount of stock then a company has only itself to blame. Especially since those big ticket items are not easily removed. A Jeweller manages to keep most of his stock there.

This usually only happens in a highly organised operation where a high number of employees are involved or at least know of the details. They should remove\shuffle all middle managers and interview the staff with a program of protection for the whistleblowers. If they are victimised because of a disclosure they should be investigated and prosecuted. Someone who suffers damage as a result of victimisation should be entitled to seek compensation through the Courts.

It can be really difficult, I remember when they built Parliament House here the concrete truck drivers would drive in and get signed off, consequently turn around and drive out and were off to build another house. The whole lot were involved, the guy on the gate, the foreman and the crew... really hard to stop sometimes.

I bet there are a lot of people with mega dollars invested in projects, that must now be nervous.
When they take the car in for rego, it might just get impounded.

    Wouldn't that come under "Kharma"?

I think it was quoted somewhere that the engines were being sold as low as $1500.00. Bit hard to say that you had no idea it was hot.
No sympathy from me, what's the difference between taking it from Holden or breaking into my shed and taking mine?
    It's still theft.
And I agree the theives will probably be the loudest if / when Holden lays workers off.
