From what ive learned off this site site it is a sandman but need expert opionion.

if this does check out would like to rebuild as original as posible with exception of motor, power steer and air. so would love any imput.

Yes it is. 1950kg on a 1978-79 HZ ute is XX7 Sandman ute regardless of XX7 being on the BODY tag or not! Can you send me the BODY and chassis numbers for the database?

my uncle bought it in 80 ish and used for work till 6 years ago when i bought it and drove it every day for 2 years. been in shed
untill i got keen to fix it and started striping it and got a hunch what it was.

Thanks for that. All good, but you've read the BODY number wrong. I think it is 441338B. If it is hard to read you'll find the same number in the end of the VIN on that car.
