    Transam van

    Someone posted this up at GMH Torana. I usually hate this modified rubbish, but this is a very clever job and I hadn't seen it before.

    Its amazing how Nightrider had such an influence on Australian panel vans in the 80's.

    Looks alot like the Black Eagle which is owned by a lovely bloke here in Hobart...check it out, this thing has quite a history and has been all around Australia...well worth a read!

    It is a '77 Transam inspired van (based upon the original 1970 Camaro and Firebird shape) . Kitt (Knight Industries Two Thousand) was an 82 or 83 Transam!

    Yeah but it was that show that made the multitudes know they existed. So when someone put those horrific fronts on Holdens everyone instantly knew what they were..... knight rider clones.
    Its irrelevant what series they were copied from.

    Smokey and the Bandit made them famous! Looks nothing like Kitt! I know what you mean though.

    Smokey and the Bandit are pretty good movies.. I have all three here on dvd..

    In the first movie Trigger looked like that van, but the second movie it was a 1980 style car (different car with different nose). I haven't seen thee 3rd movie.

    I've only seen number one.. Haven't had time to watch the other 2.. Just like I've only seen the first Back to the Future and own all three.. lol

    Back to the future - love those movies. Probably my favourite movies. Michael J Fox appears occasionally on The Good Wife TV series, his Parkinsons is bad but he is still a really great actor and still funny in his own way.
