    bens 78 hz windowless

    hi guys and gals
    long time reader first time poster.a very helpfull site indeed
    i finally got me self a panelvan about 6 months a go after owning a hq ute , hj sedan and a hx wagon so it seems im going in order. i am a spray painter by trade but only a self taught panel beater lol.
    here are some progress pics ,it needed neary every rare spares rust repair panel.

    i was going to upload more progress pics but it seems i need to learn how to re size images,i will put some more up when i work it out.
    i pretty much have the body finished primed and now on to the panels.

    welcome to the site there are alot people here that can give good info and steer people in right direction looks like your making good progress look forward to seeing more pictures

    Welcome Ben it sound like its taken you a while to get to the hz you won't be disappoint it took Holden 8years to develop the hq into the hz so you are on the right track good luck with the rest of your reso .

    Hi mate. Nice work. Handy having some panel beating/painting skills when takin on a task like this!!

    To downsize images, this is a really easy program to use. And free.

    Go to http://www.irfanview.com/ and download the free program.

    Then open it, go to FILE - open, and pick a picture.
    Then go to IMAGE - resize/resample and pick a new size then save it.

    easy peasey.

    yes ive always loved the panelvans as i learned to drive in one ,the old man had a hj but it was so rusty it needed a quick touch up every time we went into town it was rooted ha ha
    trash- i think this van was from murray bridge the guy got a permit to drive it down to lonsdale bout a year ago
    hainzy-cheers for the info , yep good being a painter but its a bloody big car to strip back and respray

    a cool murial on the side of the van with me and my daughter with the sun behind us through the door after i re primed the rear quarter.

    this is what you need in your shed in the adelaide hills during winter to dry paint lol
    i only get a day or two a week to work on the van with a couple a young kids so until next weekend

    It didn't take that long Rod. HJ was pretty much locked in late in 1973, HX in 1975 and HZ in 1976. Designs for each would have been well underway a few years earlier. HZ suspension geometry would have been on HQ except for George Roberts wanting an understeering pig.
