All good for panels (for this project anyway), I bought a complete but rusty HZ V8 ute sans engine off eBay for a shade over $200. Wrecked a few bits back onto eBay and already made the $$ back and then some. Always up for a cuppa and a chat if I'm home.

I'd post a pic of it but at the moment but don't have any on this computer to upload. Have basically gas-axed it apart from the rear of the doors (chassis still intact) and about two inches up the rear pillars. Cut the roof off and have the (good, rust free) firewall for a good mate for his panno project and a few other bits for him like dash, power steering, salisbury diff, lines and clips, heater box, bolts etc etc. That was a couple of months ago so haven't had time to get back to it yet. It's still sitting out there in the weather....

Alien, that sounds like a great idea. I was going to make the "bonnet" hinge at the back as a lid for the box and my current thoughts are to cut the apron either side and extend it the 5 or so inches it is short so that I don't mess about too much with the lines of the sides. Thought long and hard about using the roof section on the front of the trailer (basically weld the pillars where i cut them off to the front of the trailer with the front of the roof pointing down....) Have bought (off another My Sandman member, though I didn't know it at the time) some rusty guards that had good GTS weld-ins which will be making their way into the trailer, just don't know exactly where they'll be placed yet. Was going to wait to see what it looks like after I do all the other work to it (make-up some new sills and replace some ferrocious oxide behind the rear wheels with metal).

What are your thoughts on how you'll do your chassis? Attach to existing or fabricate one up? I've got an old boat trailer I bought 15 years ago but didn't use. Thinking of going that way but always looking for ideas.

Dave.
