LX SLR5000 - Aquarius
Sleekline Ski Boat - Silver/White
Rough guess, totally bare shell with tailgates removed and entire dash, firewall etc stripped: 550-750kg.
Bugger, hoping it wouldn't be that heavy. Will have to jack it up and put some good stands under it.
Thanks guys

stick a few of those cement blocks under it, ive got a sedan sitting on them while i strip her, sold the bare shell so the rest is going in the shed and the old wagon lol, i can lift the back of my ute when its on the chassie, firewalls too go for me tho, not bolted down obviously :P depends how much extra the van roof weights
I have seen someone he-man the firewall end of a body on to a plank that was supported by some old speakers. not heavy at all. All you need is two pairs of speakers and some planks..
This was a van btw...
Superchicken stripes aye Mook. Hmm I may be able to help ya.
I remember you saying something ages ago.. so still possibly possible?
Depends how much rust is in it lol.
I've lifted the back end of a tonner cabin before, but there is no way I'd try a dead lift on the firewall end - too heavy! Van would be only heavier.
Go and buy a hydraulic engine lifter, and lift the firewall from down low using a chain through the big brackets that bolt the firewall to the chassis. This will get the firewall up at least 500mm. Put a plank or ramp or something under it on stumps, trestles, stands etc - just make it stable. Then lift the back the same using the bar brackets or tailgate hinge bolt holes. And slide the chassis out. Don't bust a gut or risk it falling!
If it was me and could afford it i'd go and buy a 2 post hoist! They are a good investment.
