Weld in GTS flutes for WB

Im doing some repair work soon to a pair of front guards for my WB ute. Ive seen the weld in panels available from Rare Spares.
Are there any others on the market? Not that i could find.
Also is it as simple as cut the hole and weld them in? I done some Googling for positioning but nothing that gave me confidence of the "right spot"

Anyone got some measurments off a factory pressed panel? Were the GTS flutes ever an option in WB? Seen a set on ebay a guy was claiming as genuine GTS panels and they were WB, i wondered if they were cut down HZ? (front section lifted up)

Sorry for the 20 questions and i appreciate any help to get it done right

There was a bloke at Coonabarabran NSW who had the dies to press them into gaurds. No wb gts guards from Holden though.

Retro rods sell them and also press them if you get your guards to them. Getting them pressed in would avoid the issues of distortion that arise when getting them welded in. If you do a search on "weld-in" you'll find some specs that I put up for someone a while back (measured from my guards).

    Regards,

    Dave.

i would go near anything tiawanese panels with a ten foot pole, ive got(not becasue i want them, they came on/with cars) a hz guard and a few tailgates and there rubbish, thin as, really light and dint so easily, id change the front to hz and put proper gts guards before id buy tiawanese guards for it, if your only doing the ute up to sell it, itll fill the gap, ive made sure not one bit of steel on my ute is tiawenese, even rekinned my tailgate with proper steel

i hate to blow your bubble myles BUT...when i worked for spare parts in a large holden dealer in 1980 we use to have to remove the panels and parts from the gmh boxes and remove the little gold made in thailand sticker...there was 2 types of hj hx hz gts gaurds floating around then...the dead set aftermarket rubbish one had its stamping in the rain gutter section towards the front of the gaurd and the genuine gmh made in thailand one was stamped on the flat section under the bonnet hinge....even though these were made in thailand they were a very good quality and fit....do youself some research and you will find that GMH had its own manufacturing plants in thailand....its extremely hard to lump all aftermarket parts in to the same quality...some are absolute shit and some are better than original...it really depends on the person or company contracting the manufacturer to produce the parts....good example would be some of rare spares parts...some are absolute shit because they dont know what any sort of quality is and they want to make money as quick as possible...other parts are very good repros...its more the latter these days but thats coz they cop so much shit from the buying public i would think.

ive got a passenger guard with tiawan stamped in the middle of the guard or the rain gutter, there soo much lighter steel, if i find a tiawanese stamp i wont use it, the tailgates are easy to tell just a tap and you can tell the difference, ive got one here thats good skin but bent like a bananna, your right about the rares stuff, i was thinking about buying a new dash fascia becasue i can get mine perfect, but theyve got 2 dirty big dints near the clock, if i owned rares i wouldnt even sell them
