I have looked at that one too alien!
When I was looking at a couple of monaros they had I spotted it at the back of the yard. I checked it out and was pretty unimpressed with the condition of it. The monaros were in pretty much the same shape.... Needless to say I didn't buy anything from them. I ended up with a neat BF XR6 turbo, for about 5 grand less than the shabby monaros they had! Some people don't deserve nice cars....

HQVAN....yeah his yard is full of ex hoon cars......really doesnt give you a good vibe being there

That VZ pictured...if that wasnt in an accident i'll eat my own shoes. Look at the bonnet gap. Thats a mobile phone pic so imagine seeing that in the flesh......old mate seems to think they are so rare, he'll get 25K for sure. The 70's mustve been really good to him

The ute window is still in place, so yeah, you have to walk around to the back. Pretty sure it's illegal to remove the window behind the seats.

i see 61% say they are not Sandmans. So thats final then. Sandmans panel vans finished in HZ.
Perhaps they should be called a retro-tribute Sandman?

I agree with you wbute they are a tribute to the sandman. Sad to say its only a ute. Vans you can get in the back from the front seats utes with a conopy you have to walk around the back to get in

I have seen this van in the flesh. Looks good at first then when you see the front end it reminds me of a hearse!!
Love the pipes through the rear bar too.
The rear was decked out in black furry stuff that looked good but not my style.
Wheels looked great. Spoke with the guy who did the body work on it and he said a lot of work went into it but there are still visible lines between the amcat rear addition and the ute, but it only appeared after it was baked.
Was keen to buy it but in the interim found HEAVAN and bought it first for a lot less cash.
Just saying it how I see it ppl..
    Cheers.

Yes, Rick's VZ took out Most Desirable Custom at the Bathurst Van Meet last weekend. It has a lot more mods than you first think.
I'm not a fan of the wheels either. 22" on the rear look OK, but far too large on the front. The Air Bags don't allow the front to drop as far as the rear either.
Still, great modern custom. BTW: This is not a factory HBD Van.

    Regards, Smooth
