We all like to get indignant about things we can't do anything about so I thought I would start a thread.
I'm cheesed off because the the demerit fairies took my drivers license off me for 6 months after I failed the double or nothing test. This wasn't something that I thought would happen to me as I got 50 (with RUP -rust in usual places-thanks to who it was who abbreviated that) and had a pretty good record.
So now I ride my bike to make the roads a safer place?
That can't be right, WA road toll is 4 times higher since they took my license (maybe there all swerving to miss me)
They must have taken my license for my own safety?
That can't be right, I've crashed the bike, lots of cuts and a broken rib and yesterday I got hit by car driven by lady who thought give way means for cars only. She didn't stop but shouted "sorry I didn't see you"
What cheeses me off? ......I can't get an extrodanairy license for points but could if I was a drink driver (even with a life time ban) or Hoon, no probs.
Worse still, after an 18 month search I picked up my sandman the day I handed my license in.

In WA i you run out of the 12 points in 3 years you lose your license for 3 months. Same every where I think? Double or nothing means they give 1 more point for 1 year and you stuff up(I did) then your suspension is double to 6 months

Does suck, but the way I see it is the only way to lose points is to break the law. Don't break the law, and keep your licence is my motto!

As a tongue in cheek comment, I always describe the following as idiot taxes:

Driving fines.
Alcohol taxes.
Cigarette taxes.
Gambling taxes.

If we all avoid them all (or minimise them), Govt cries "broke" and taxes go up, then I have to pay more. This way, ie not get fined, not smoke, not gamble and not drink much then others pay the taxes. That is why I call them idiot taxes!

I avoid most alcohol tax as I tend to go overseas once a year with my mrs, and I buy 4 x 1L bottles of Turkey Bourbon or JD sour mash. Those last me a year! So not much tax there.
