I'd say you could order whatever configuration you wanted for the rear of these van's, as holden had no such choice. All you had to do was walk in, tell them what vehicle you had in mind, and tick the appropriate boxes on the order sheet. That is one very well optioned van, well worth restoring, sundowner or not. Buying a new ford in the 70's was great, the list of option's was incredible, very different today.

GMH was the same in HK-HG era but quashed a lot of the option game into the W sized vehicles (HQ-HZ) as it must have got way too hard. Later in HJ you could only order certain drivelines and with them cam mandatory options like air, steer, intermittent wipers etc.
I simply cannot stand the look of an XC! XA sedans and coupes are hornbag cars, but even vans and utes in XA are ugly in my eyes!
I'd own an XA,XB & XC Coupe anyday.
