Correct tub Colour in HQ Utes

I have been working on the tub of my Ute. On rubbing it back I am coming across the original Monterey Green Paint on the wheel arches. On several other forums I have seen many saying the tubs were painted Vynacoat Grey or whatever, yet on Sandman Scale Models etc the tubs are painted the same colour as the rest of the vehicle. What is correct?

I thought Kingswood utes had body colour and Belmont/Holden the grey vynacote. All panelvans were grey in the rear compartment other than the upper and lower tailgates.

Im sure we will be corrected.. haha

    Yes Mauser,

I think you may be correct, I sort of prefer the grey.

I'm not so sure about HQ Kingswood tubs being body colour in the tub, from the best I can tell mine has always been off white/grey (I assume the Vynacoat grey)

I have also attached a couple of pic's rom an HQ Kingswood ute that was adverstised a while back that I recall being advertised as un-restored - I know you can't rely on that being the case but it looked very tidy from the pic's.

I wonder if it may have varied based on the build plant? Either way I'd say paint it what you prefer...

Well there you go. I wonder when they started to colour the tub.

Maybe they just heaps of over spray on the wheel arches and then masked up and painted over with the Grey. With my Ute there is heaps of green over spray also on the inside of the panels, obviously painted before the side panels were put in. Thanks Mauser and AN5590 for the feedback, and would love to see more shots of the Kingswood Ute you posted for reference, so hard to get original spec photos to compare.
