hey my original sand man ute had a rubber stripe through the bumper

Rubber strips on bumpers are not standard on Sandman's. It could be optioned but it is not standard. More likely add sometime later in most cases.

and if you go and have a look at this ute its been smashed look at gaps around the bonnett etc 63 000miles i dont think so

I have seen and studied this Ute and the front spoiler is not factory. Every chance it has been smashed and repaired at some stage. As for the speedo reading, I don't have any reason to believe or disbelieve it. Doesn't matter one way or another to me.

It's a tidy Sandman Ute, but it's not perfect.
