Ok. Finally got back to the Stato today and took the GTS wheel off it, as well as, from the boot, a full collection of really sharp seat belts, about 6 bags of rare spares new rubber seals for doors and boot, the long sill trims and a few other bits. Removed the GTS wheels and replaced with jelly beans the old dude gave me.......NOW it looks like a Stato. Steering wheel had never been removed, nut had no marks on it and still had the lock nut on it.

Diff is NOT GU7 as i stated HK, but GV1 on the id tag, my mistake. What does this mean? The left hand drum would spin in the air with the right hand wheel on the ground but not vice versa?????

Stupidly i did not write down the skinny tag but i have the rest of the compliance details. They are as follows.....

LHS Tag
HQ Sedan Statesman
5/74
EHQ 205725 (this matches the chassis number)
Seating Capicity 5

RHS Tag
Model 81459QR
Body No 815150-S (note- 8 could read 3 was hard to read)
Trim 1879-38P
Paint 567-15821

Under about where the LHS wiper sits is engraved 20693S on the firewall.....what does this mean? I remember now the old fella told me he used to have a HX ute.....this could explain the books i guess.

Cant believe i forgot to record the skinny tag. As you have probably worked out i have no idea what any of this means, but i'm keen to learn and would love some info re what all this means.

I have 5 sets of GTS rims now and various GTS gear from the Stato i'm willing to trade for some window fill ins from a windowless van for my WB i'm re building. It is a 5.0 turbo 400 van with uncut GTS dash and now some funky HQ gear going into it. I picked it up cheap, it came with a WB Stato front (in the back, drove it all the way from Adelaide to Mackay WITH the WB Stato front AND a 1990 full size arcade game in the back) and it's nearly ready for paint. It will be Orchid, with blackouts and GTS rims. I hate windows, want them filled but cant find a donor up here.......

Anyone travelling through country NSW do yourself a favour and pop into Coonabarrabran Auto Spares on the North side of town and see Dixie and his sons. They are an awesome family with more HK Monaros than you can poke a stick at and almost EVERY Holden spare you could imagine. I called in to get a WB indicator stalk which had failed and turned my lights out whilst driving home, ended up spending the day there repairing my van, looking throught their yard and chatting to the boys. Ended up buying a GTS steerer of a Torana and nearly much more. I left my WB Stato guards there to get GTS flutes pressed into them ( the young fella ther desinged and built his own press) and they are on their way to me now.

I look forward to anyone telling me the history of this Stato. I dont know how to get photos on here but if anyone wants to trust me with their phone number i can message them and you can post them. Anyone with donor window infills please pm me if keen on a swap.

Cheers.
