    Wooo Hooo another Holden win on the Mountain. Nice to see for the 50 years. Pity Lowndes didn't have a few more laps up his sleeve to pick up a couple of places. Good race tho.

    I get sick of seeing Lowndsey getting double stacked in the pits.
    If Whincup was behind, they change their tactics so he wasn't stacked.
    Kind of reminds me of Webber/Vettel in Red Bull.........................
    Hang on, 888 will be Red Bull next year............................BUGGER for Lowndsey AGAIN!!!!
    BO6 = Rarer then a Sandman

    I usually love the Great Race, perfect weather atmosphere, met and had tea with Harry Firth who was also staying at the winery. Our daughter and her partner Matt drove down from Newcastle as well. Caught up with Agro, Skid, and soaked in the smell of the petrol. Then we had a phone call that ruined it all for us.

    The monaro is on its way by truck, his wife Mel, asked his brother to come over and show it.(since he spent so much time getting it ready)..she will be okay, kids okay, but now his baby daughter won't know him, and his two little boys will hardly remember their father. We will have to ensure they drive his three monaros (2 HQ and 1 HK) when they are old enough and hopefully they will have had enough influence to enjoy classic cars. None of us an get our head around this tragedy, so far Rodney has had to do two interviews via phone to both ABC national, and Prime 7. We have our show n shine this weekend, it will be very hard to do, he left us all instructions and did most of the organising before handing over the reins to Rodney, and I and others and set off for a supposed great trip to WA for monaro Nationals. Life if precious, RIP Aiden Ashcroft. :(:( It wasn't his fault either.

    PS I didn't care in the end who won the race, as long as everyone had a good time, and nobody was injured. The best part was seeing all those dear old drivers doing a lap of honour, sadly Brocky couldn't be there along side them all

    thanks Dave, we have had a shocker, one after another, I have been to more funerals this year of people who mean a lot to me than I have ever been to in all my life. I look forward to 2013 and hope it is better....

    No probs. Pity we don't have the Monaro registered otherwise we would have brought that to the car show. But we will still be there to celebrate his life with you.
    RIP.
