I don't know. I just remember is being in question and thought it was worth bringing up. Obviously we need the TAG information. Which based on the amount of shows it did shouldn't be too hard.

It appears to be the same Ute for sure. If it isn't a real Sandman and was sold and purchased as one that might become interesting!

WOW! I hope everybody knows what was sold and purchased!
Such a pity because it is very neat. It should be shown as a "Tribute" and made very obvious.

Huge money has been thrown at it also...

After such an extensive rebuild, i'm confused how you can get the grille wrong.....easy fix though.

I'm just repeating what was posted in the other thread by members on here who say they've seen it. In the video of M&M glen states the Sandman was built from 74 to 79 so one would assume the HQ's plates were verified. From the video it looks like a lot of Rares parts were used in the rebuild, console lid and shifter surround stand out like dog balls.

Spoke with owner/s of said ute today and they both state it is a late 74? HQ and the guy Jim that restored it is doing another aqua marine 304 ute which he picked up off ebay from Bathurst last year think I vaguely remember said vehicle, he asked me to about the grill Alien he wasn't aware they are all black but he is now.

I reckon it's the one item that the majority of people get wrong and don't know any different!! Great to see it will be rectified
