    SUV firms as Commodore replacement

Seems the commodore is doomed....maybe has been for a while with the economy the way it is. I just think that Holden will lose its identity if they get rid of a large family sedan in their lineup.

    Thoughts?

Writing has been on the wall for a long time. Both the Commodore and Falcon. Cars will need to be "world" model releases to survive.
If people don't buy Commodores or Falcons in favour of some Korean, Chinese, Jap zip start then that is the way it will be.

    Great Wall or Cherry anybody?

Problem is the idiot general public will buy them. Look at any late model Toyota "FUGLY" yet they still sell!
Mazda at the moment seem to have it right (for sales). Check the size, range and styling.

Still, I don't want any of them.

Not everyone want's to drive small vehicles, this happened in the 80's. Not all people want to drive electric car's or the gas buggies. Of course this could also be a story to get as many people as possible to go to the sydney motor show.

i reckon holden needs to do something with theyre 6's to keep competative with ford, either bring back a super 6 or bring in a turbo, if i could afford to buy a new ute, wasnt on my p's, i think id nearly have to buy the F6, over the sv6 unfortunatly

I'm a big fan of GMH product. But they have missed the mark for me in product range since VZ. Not quality, but what they offer. The last 2 x GMH vehicles that suited me were the CV8 Monaro and the tonner/crewman. And even then they stuffed the AWD tonner up by only making it a V6. Whilst i'll always have my old Holdens, and I still have kept the V2 CV8, both our everyday drive cars are Toyotas. Why? Because they make what we wanted. Mine is a V6 2011 Hilux SR5. My Mrs drives a 2011 Lexus RX350(/Kluger/Rav4). Holdens no longer fit the bill. At least Ford make a ute than can tow!

i am in the same boat as Byron. If they made a car to compete with the Hilux and Prado and put a V8 in it, I would drive one. Until they do, they don't make a car to suit my family.
The Commodore has been a dead duck for about 10 years.
