I was thinking the same! A HJ with a full length headlining is a Sandman. It may be faded Manarin red too, not orange.

I shall run the numbers by you guys before the axe comes out haha.

Spoke to old mate last night and it seems i have my wires crossed again....it has no full headlining BUT he said it has the sharks tooth (his terminoligy) on the inner rear of the turret.....is that some kind of grip strip for the headlining? I thought he said it had a full headlining originally.....maybe he removed the bows himself to keep them, which is fair enough. Oh well, there's still the parts i wanted in it.

Thanks QUP I shall check it out.....

Yes that is the attachment strip, it would be there because the van had full headlining.

Hey Big Blocker, just a question re the attatchment strip.....is this a factory only thing or could any idiot get his hands on one in the day and tac it on? I've got a few photos of this thing and cant wait to get it here on the weekend to read the id tags. Old mate i'm buying it from is a Holden nut and seems to know his stuff so i doubt it will be anything but a mock up.....live in hope but.

If anyone want's to see pictures of it go to gumtree and type in sandman.......with a blank 'distance from' option and it's the orange windowless van.......believe it or not, in Byron Bay...... $800 and a carton

    Go the Hawks.....Rockape

Factory only, very difficult to remove and re-attach.

In my years of playing with Holdens, Toranas and Statesmans i've met a lot of experts who on the surface seem to know their stuff. But then you find out they know bugger all after 10 minutes of conversation......Yep my uncle had an original GTS327 with an auto box...Or I bought a Sandman brand new with column shift....etc.

I just looked at it, and she's 'ted. Too rusty for me! Still could easily be a Sandman though, unless it has had a body swap.
