It is apparent that not all forum members are familiar with netiquette and terminology used on forums, so here are some examples and explanations.

  • Trolling - Is a post with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.
  • Derailing - Posting in a thread to take it off topic from the original discussion.
  • Spamming - Posting unsolicited advertising material in threads.
  • Double Posting - When a member contributes to a thread by posting consecutive posts, without other members posting in between.
