    202 Thermostat Help

    Hi All,

    I am putting a fresh 202 in my van and I am a little confused with the thermostat housings. I am planning on running tripple SU's.

    Can somone please explain the difference between the two and which one I need?

    what year is your van ?

    It's a 82 WB. Engine that was in it had the second thermo housing with pipes ontop... But its rusted away pretty badly inside so I was going to replace it.

    you can use either one but if it has to be inspected for rego they will probably want the second one as per factory

    As [MENTION=737]thatotherguy[/MENTION] mentioned rego authorities may need it in place for rego. It is a thermo/vac switch that (one of its functions) is to push the idle speed of the engine up if it starts getting too hot - drives the fan faster. Can't remember off the top of my head if it is ADR/emissions related or not as to if it actually needs to be there for rego. Best talk to the mob who does your inspections.
