HK1837 is it correct to clarify that side windows were factory fitted for HQ & HJ (as well as dealer) but HX/Z were dealer fitted only?

Just to add to the confusion I believe that Acacia Ridge vans had windows dealer fitted. My van had option A09 on the broadcast sheet and the windows were fitted by an Ipswich motor body building firm (Richardsons). My avatar shows the van in question.

A09 was optional for factory fitment for HQ through to WB.

Thanks guys, in previous posts on this forum and others there has been mention that early vans were Factory fitted and HX/Z were not.

Wasn't there a couple of van bodies with windows in the photo of partially assembled Holdens on the train?

Clint, is the XE a van as well? I was under the impression that the only XE's with a factory v8 were the ESP Ghia's. Be careful with paying extra based on the fact that things are "allegedly" factory fitted. Sellers seem to love those words even though they have no proof.

you are right no factory v8 xe vans! this is a s pac would luv for it to be a esp(fairmont ghia) as they were optioned 5.8 as well! there were 4.9 fairmonts and esp but the 5.8 is the rarer 1 all 4sp manuals im a ford nut but nearly converted if only i could get a hq sandman ;D

no its a sedan! and you are correct there were no v8 xe panel vans only xd panel vans(sundowners)
