    If the race versions were basically super tricked up HSVs and FPVs, sales would go through the roof!!! A bunch more mods and you could have a race car of your very own.

    Now that said, i would imagine Holden and Ford would be engineering better cars....world class even.... if their racecars were hotted up showroom models. Imagine how competitive they would be against each other?!!

    Just putting my opinion up mate. Of course i respect your views and wont knock you down for that.....i just feel deflated with the way the sport has become.

    I agree the cars today are so far removed from what you can purchase. I think there would be more incentives to win and engineer if they were hotted up showroom models. And now Volvo are entering and they do not even have a production V8 in Australia. It is hard to see a long sustainable future for the category with the way the world is going with smaller cars.
