Sandman alright!
Do you have access to the VIN? It is important on Elizabeth vehicles pre 8/77.

Hi I'm just new to the forum and here is my sandman.

I HATE the wheels and am I right in saying it shouldn't have a GTS badge on grille or an HSV badge on the steering wheel?

Love the way it all works together and the name across the tail gate. You can almost here the "I can make you famous" line from the movie looking at the RHS!
What finish have you put the gutter in? Looks (almost) like a chrome trim (or is it paint?) and it breaks it up nicely.
Like the custom console and inserts too (showing my age I guess... hehe). You're right about the HSV and GTS badges. HSV started with Tom Wlkinshaw in the late 80's and they had nothing to do with the H and W series and the GTS was associated with the sedan in that era.
That said, if you check on ebay.com.au (search for terms such as HX Holden etc) and rarespares.net.au there are plenty of Oz based aftermarket sellers who can help you get the bits to keep her rolling. Contact the member here ozbox and he can also help and is an invaluable source of spares and info too.
Love your work there.
Regards,
Dave.
Nunc est bibendum...
I reckon the wheels are great. Probably one of the the nicest and easiest to clean of the period wheels!
Cool looking van, looks like its from a time warp, good to see something different and a van with murals is always interesting, I'd leave the GTS badge on the grill but get rid of the HSV emblem on the steering wheel.
Very nice looking van, mural's look great.
"Proud To Be An Old Fart".
Yup, I like it. Don't get all caught up with the sheep attempting to make it all things Sandman again.
It has been individualised as a custom van and that's very cool.
I'm with you the wheels do nothing for me. Flash paint requires flash wheels. But PLEASE don't put anything on it that aren't period correct. Stick with 70's - '80's rims.
Lose the HSV horn button sticker and I'm personally not keen on the bonnet mural "if it doesn't match" the engine bay goods.
Sweet ride dude, enjoy it!
