Are you allowed to drive with tailgate open?

I DO drive with the top rear tailgate open.
Not that I drive it that much, but I've never had a "police" issue.

I dont see it as any different to winding the rear window down in your H series station wagon.

And its a thousand times easier to see out the back.

Its not an issue in NSW nor should it be, can remember when I was a kid and my dad had panelvan for his business and we use to take 3/4 of my soccer team to away games and we would have a heap of fun with the tail gate up, throwing lollies etc out the back.
