It is a very nice looking HQ Sandman

That's my Van - The infamous stamped 3 seater XX7 Brisbane model. Trim code ends in B which I'm pretty sure means bucket, so it is almost certainly a mistake of GMH - either that or i've got a rare 3 seater sandman. Original 253 rebuilt, although was originally Burgundy (Yuk) Orchard was my favourite colour and the chances of getting hold of one were zero to none, so I went for the non original colour. Indicator lenses should be orange and the hounds tooth seat insert aren't original but totally suits the layout. Will get around to putting on the stripes one day, body still not perfect yet as I'm a fussy bugger.Pics were from the HQ run in Brisbane. Pics look great -Travis
nothing compares to an orchid metallic hq, definitely one of the best colours for the hq, gotta love that!
Bring back the 70's!
Hi I have a Sydney built 74 Orchid belmont van, 6 banger, colum auto 3 seater black trim.
Pretty cool van in it's own way.My son is going to rebuild it, v8 4 speed though.
cheers Vic
Mate I love the van and love the colour. Think I might have found the colour scheme for my Q Sandman (when I get it!). Great stuff
Looks great! The colour is unreal.
We also have just started restoring 1973 Belmont, Brissy built. Our trim is A, however, the seats that came with it, are more like two seats, with a centre arm rest that folds back to become a bench seat. Not sure if this is the original style bench seat that the A trim code refers to?
