They are not HQ-WB commercial fuel caps. Incorrectly advertised.

Does the fact the seller only list it as fitting HZ or WB mean he is pretty sure he knows what it fits...

Does the fact the seller only list it as fitting HZ or WB mean he is pretty sure he knows what it fits... Especially as he says its for van or ute only as well..... Better than even money bet it is

I dont think it matters who told him or if he knows for himself. the fact that he has been very specific by nominating on HZ or WB and Van or Ute suggests he knows (or has been told ) what it is and what it fits.

otherwise the ad would be Hq - Wb and would not be vehicle specific.... I think its worth the gamble.... but its just my opinion

That is an HZ or later cap. The earlier HQ/HJ caps don't have the double attachment arrangement and are the same as the earlier Holdens such as HR etc.
That double attachment/locating pins is painful to undo if you don't know about it!

Agreed, they can be a pain in the RRR's if you're not used to them, but you are incorrect about the HQ/J caps. The pic in that link is a vented commercial cap.

The pic above is a pic of my original cap (I cannot find any documentation or dealer paperwork that says it was either removed or replaced at all apart from a reciept for a locking cap about three months after they took delivery of it - must have been those mongrel westie Parramatta teenagers syphoning juice again ) fitted to my HJ, you can clearly see it is as you describe it shouldn't be.... Funnily enough it also fits my HX ute trailer filler neck and my WB panno filler neck as well....

I feel some of you might be getting mixed-up between HQ-HZ sedan/wagon caps and HQ-WB ute/panel can caps. Two totally different designs between them. Happy to be wrong though the earlier caps may not have been vented, which is easy enough to do with a standard cap and a drill when they started to piddle raw fuel into the charcoal cannister (was a known issue in early HJs).

    Regards,

    Dave.
