I didn't know m22 went in panel vans. Thought it was a one tonner thing. There u go.
Also it needs more than 2 seat capacity. It needs to have the console/seat separator mounts. I think bucket seats were available in hq without the seperator but not on sandman.

m22 may of been available with 6 cylinders and agree would need console bracket gts gauges ,horizontal fluted guards etc let this one go though to the keeper ( Byron ) for final say but is very promising

Looks like I will be a proud panel van owner this time tomorrow

In theory sounds great, but I think I have got about two years work in front of me, at least. Did find out that the van was owned by Chris from Echuca who brought it a off a young guy but then sold it on to guy in Tassie, then me.

Not the best thing I have ever seen but it is very straight and a HQ sandman with not to much rust yet.
Any way thanks for your help... Brett

Chris from Echuca did say Byron would want to put a V8 in it, strange thing is I have a mild 308 wth 0 km`s from rebuild in my shed. I am in two minds ,but i like the idea of building it to origanal specs , anyway the 308 will go in my VC sle commodore (HDT Rep) .

The van comes with a 202, gearbox, etc, not the origanal engine but thde same date code and complete drive train... Being new to vans I can now see some of the attraction to these vans, they allow you to have a fun practical car that looks good and sounds good, a bit hard if the van has a six . I got all that from the 1977 interview on van culture on this web site , also little bit strange seeing two guys having a interview laying down in the back of the van back in the 70`s. Not the typical 70`s bloke thing, might of been a hidden agenda from GMH, anyway my choice of V8 would 350 chev.
