The Fires in Tassie etc.

I'm blown away watching the news and seeing the devastation caused by fires in Tassie and to hear of yet more in VIC and the threat to other areas in the country. Thoughts out to those living in those parts an hoping to get some relief from these hot dry conditions. We live in such a beautiful country which is so often subject to drought, flood and fire, some towns isolated by distance and a lack of services that we can easily take for granted. The thing which makes me a little proud though is how Aussies always seem to pull together, show generosity and lend a hand when it is needed particularly in the aftermath of these disasters.

If any of you are or know anyone who is affected by these fires please stay safe and take care. Our thoughts to you all.

Couldn't have said it better myself Taily. I didn't realise how bad it is in Tassie. Fingers crossed for every ones safety

Its amazing that in tassie a lightning strike started those fires such a beautiful country sad to see such devastation in a small place
its on my bucket list on places to visit one day

I visited Tassie for the first time in Feb/March 2012, and although quite small in area, it's really beautiful, full of history and you will have a great time there. So terrible to see such devastation, can't imagine what it would be like to lose everything that's precious, I guess the only postive is that no-one has lost their lives and lets hope it stays that way...
