HX engine number, is this corrrect?

I have a 1976 HX Sandman 308, m21, GV4 07/76 build

The engine cast date is 15f6 which I think is 15th of June 1976

The engine number is QT7697**

Could this be the origional engine for this van? There is a months differece in engine, compliance but during manufacture a lot happens in a month

The chassis is AHX


any info is appreciated

Depends upon the asssembly plant but it is pretty close.

Contact the holden customer service centre.... Give them the vin and engine number, if the engine number you give is recorded against the vin they will tell you..... You have to supply an engine number, but if the number you supplied is incorrect for the vin and the correct number is recorded they will not tell you the original number

By the letter on the end of the chassis number on the driver's side ID plate. So A, B, M or S for your era car.
