Agree with HK on that, all those hoses could do with replacing, I don't think I saw one that wasn't cracked and brittle.
Well drove the car to work today. It overheated on the way back to the workshop and pooed all over south road.
The was heaps of poo on the top of the tank and on the cap. I'll flush it all again. Re filled the radiator with coolant for the drive home. Wow was that fun! Running so rough with no power, stalled heap of times! Held up a lot of traffic. One young lad on The side of the road yield out that I must be living the dream. I certainly was!
Here is the poop in question
I'm going to try the breather hoses tonight. I don't recon it'll drive to work tomorrow like this.

Having a quickly recky around the engine there are three definite things that arnt attached to breather hoses.
This thing on the side of the manifold
That thing bolted to the top and front of the rocker cover
And the hose furthest away on the carbon canister.
Also is there anyway that a radiator would overheat without it being broken?
There was steam coming from the bottom of it when it went dry. But it didn't overheat or loose any fluid on the drive home.
Coincidently all three hoses are zip tied together!

lucky it didnt poo all over your face
One guy one radiator! I hear you! Do you have a good 6 I can swap you for a good v8?
Those are all spark advance controls for pollution equipment, except for the canister which is just fuel vapour. You need to get it leak tested to make sure it doesn't have a blown head gasket. And also take the radiator to a radiator shop and get it cleaned out. It'll be all gunked up. I'd also pull the whole thermostat housing off the front of the head and give it a good flush out. Flush out the heater core too. Then buy one of those top radiator hose filters when it is all cleaned up, and run water with corrosion inhibitor, not glycol.
no sorry i only have V8s too i have a 6 but it was in my torrie and that was overheating too . Take the thermostat housing off and take the thermostat out and put the housing back on and run water through the top hose with the bottom hose off and give the block a good flushing.Had the same problem with my HT (had been sitting for 4 years) and thats what i did and its ok now
Head gasket.....
Flushed out the block thermostat and radiator and filled it back up. Noticed this
Sigh...
Well it's a good time to learn how to rebuild a motor!
I'm defiantly learning a lot on this car.
