Disconnect each of these in turn with the car in drive and handbrake onto see if it idles properly (plug the manifold hole with your finger). Also make sure it has full vacuum advance to the dizzy, not ported vacuum. This increases the advance at idle to speed the engine up a bit to counter-act the torque converter action.
I'll try those options now, just put in ppan adjustable idle screw. I held the brass threaded bit in place with some masking tape and gave it a sidewise tap with the hammer. Got it in the rest if the way with an f clamp. Worked a treat!
