The decal/sticker application was usually done at the dealership, so it was possible to convince the dealer not to put the decals on the car.
More info from others coming I'd expect.
thanx Blocker ... Interesting question?
If you look up post by Holdenon you will see he had a Sandman ute that was bought new by his brother(I think) that had the stickers removed by the dealer. I am pretty sure they were optional.
I think heaps of things like that were optional back in the day. You could order almost any option and almost anything deleted too if you didnt want it. Im pretty sure you could order them with out the stripes. Someone might correct me but i think they gave them to you in the pack, not stuck on..
ive bought and resold 2 sandmans that were original shed finds and both of them had never had the stripes fitted..nor had they been repainted..
the boys who had Panel vans in Forbes where I was for my Teen years...hardly any of them had Sandman stripes, they called them "woggy" that seemed to be the strange opinion of the time there.....am also sure 2/3 of them were Sandmans by the Dash's and guards etc......
They where standard but could be deleted.
DL7 - Delete stripe option. =)

Hi, there is a local guy here, who bought his HJ sandman van brand new, at local dealership here in town. The stripes came in a package. He only put on the wording Sandman, stripes are still in the package. He still is the current owner to this day, take it out for a run and it still in great shape, also still have all the original paper work.
My understanding, with the HZ sandman, you could delete it from the order.
