Yes it appears to me that the big boys don't give a rats anymore about the ppl like us who helped build them up to where they are.
Would love to have been the CEO of rio tinto for the last 5 years!!
He loses them 23 BILLION dollars and is sacked with an 18+ million dollar share package!!
    Go figure!!

    Good luck Sean and family!!

Hmmm, late last year there were quite a few jobs advertised for building supervisors and project managers and I was actually offered one supervising when I rang up about it but being a loyal type of fellow I said no....... Silly me!

Pretty much nothing much out there at the moment...... I have an interview with a project management Co when the guy gets back from Hong Kong in a week or so but it may involve working away from home a bit which I am not too keen on.

Looks like a move to the country may be on the cards if work is available. Better start selling off some of my accumulated crap again... Lol

Well an update on Absinth, he is under my wing, lol...he is working for Rodney, and we are very pleased to have him on board, as our circumstances changed, as our long time partner decided to retire, due to a very sprained shoulder, one door closes and another opens they say. Sean and his family are living in the caravan park around the corner, we see them regularly, and he is doing a great job at the motel for us.
If any of you go to the All Holden Day at Richmond on the 3rd and 4th August you might catch up with him

Good to hear. Was wondering where he'd gotten to as hadn't seen him post much lately.

We were enjoying time off and did some exploring of Victoria in between packing up the house. Went gold detecting in Maryborough and Creswick, did a trip down the great ocean road, did a trip up to Toowoomba to pick up our caravan and spent 10 days at Ballina. Tripped down the NSW coast and back to Melbourne to finish packing... Spent a few days in Ballarat visiting Sovereign Hill and teaching my daughter how to pan for gold... A few days in Castlemaine sightseeing then on to Parkes to catch up with Rod and Jen..... Looks like we may be here for a while thanks to Rod taking pity on the wandering unemployed and giving me some work... lol..

I got the wireless modem activated and finally figured out how to connect to it so we have Internet in the van now.... Seems to work pretty good so far.... A bit too stuffed to be on it during the week though as still getting used to doing physical labour again after 6 yrs as an office jockey....

Good to hear from you again Sean. I hope it all come's together for you now, after all the set back's you have had to endure. It does take time to get back into it, once you have been off the tool's for a while.

    Cheers.
