Yes, it make's a lot of sense to me also. Opinion's are just that, an opinion, to that person. Fact's & Taste are a whole other issue.

So where is my post? Removed by whom and why?
Pretty poor effort to remove a post and pretend it didn't exist and that you didn't do it.

Who sent it off topic? What opinions are not allowed? Nobody has to agree with me but I certainly don't have to agree with you, Vombil or anybody else here on this particular thing.

What I stated was no different to others. I certainly didn't attack or pick on anybodies pride and joy. My comment was simple a reply to Vombil and how I thought side mouldings were disgusting.
If you would like WB side mouldings on your HJ-X-Z because you think it's a style improvement - go for it!

    What a load of BS! There's a fact ....

HQ wagon bars look great with the WB Statesman large rubber moulds if you have the matching WB Statesman front. HJ-WB Hinges don't allow the bar to lift high enough, that and the fact these hinges are just plain ugly. Designed that way to allow the tailgate to drop fully.

Like anything, if it is fitted up correctly and done in such a way that it "could" have come from factory it will look great.
That said, factory got it all wrong right from the start with bumperettes on any model - YUK!

You must remember that the bumperettes go all the way back to the FE (I don't think 48-215s and FJs had them) and the reason for them was that the spare wheel door made it too hard to have a full width bar. The factory carried on the tradition with the HQ even though it was no longer necessary. I seem to remember FJs and 48-215s had rubber ones, or maybe they were an aftermaket thing.

    Dick,

Bumperettes were a genuine accessory on the 48-215 and FJ Utes. They were part of the NASCO accessory range and were always made of chromed metal. Remember what I write is just my opinion when it comes to the full length rear bars vs the bumperettes. Byron says no and makes everyone who has a full bar feel as if they have done the wrong thing (his opinion). I say you can have either, whatever you like. But then go on to say how "in my opinion" how to make it look right. I also stated that HQ bumperettes match the HQ front bar in styling. These same HQ bumperettes fitted by Holden to HJ-X-Z don't look right because the styling is different. Bit like fitting a EH Bumperette on a HD Ute or Van if you get what I'm saying.

You don't have to agree, it's not fact! It's my opinion and anyone with eyes can make of it what they see with them.
