There are dozens of show and shines and swap meets, car runs etc happening nearly every weekend around this country and some organisers think putting up a one page website you will find it and turn up.

I know mySandman isn't a huge site, and we are very specific in our audience reach (we welcome all though) - but you would reckon event organisers would do a bit of a web search for car enthusiast websites and post information on their event... Isn't it the aim of these events to bring people in?

Am I missing something?
Nope, you're not missing anything.

Just out of interest (and to see if anyone would see) I started putting a few events I could find over the next couple of months (from Pinky's website mainly) on our calendar just to see if it drew any comments.

You're right though, but feel that some admins (on other websites) might get all wobbly if someone showed-up unannounced spruiking their carshow/swapmeet/cruise. Harder to pick than a broken nose but I guess it might involve speaking directly with some of these clubs and organisers and letting them know we exist.
