Movies of the day can play a big part in what people like......

We had "running on empty" to inspire us to hot up the Monaro or Falcon, and deck out the panelvan. "Mad Max" inspired lots of hot XA-XC coupes.

Today's gen has "The Fast and the furious" to inspire them to hot up their rice burners and race on the streets. Fortunately there is also "Gone in 60 seconds" to inspire some of the younger crowd to do up dads old Charger into a tough muscle car.........

As for event organizing, the www and social networking may be all powerful today but word of mouth has been around since the dawn of time and will continue to be all the advertisement needed a lot of the time when it comes to car shows and swap meets. There was no Internet when I was a younger fellow and I always knew where and when every car show and swap meet was on in my city.
