January has been surprising. I thought it'd be quiet but cars asking reasonable $$ are selling over here. the cheapies are walking.

Agreed Glacier. People vote with their wallets. imo most model WB's will never come within cooeee of their older brother HZ

Can't say never..., they were worth 3 times as much as a hz until about ten years ago. It's only sandman a that are worth more now.

All i'm getting at is if I wanted a nice HZ or WB ute, i'd rather pay $10k for that than $5k for one with rust that has been rebuilt 5 times, bogged, mixmatch of bits and pieces etc. Being a V8 auto it'd b a much better car for everyday use.

i reckon the price is close, but the auction should have started @ $6000.00 and then he may have got maybe $9k its very original which is hard to find these days. they are not making any more.
would look nice parked next to my 4 speed wb, nearly a matching pair.

Has got a fair bit of paint knocked off in the back. Needs to be spotless in the back and gts dash to pull that money. But as HK says, you would be long way ahead with a ute that clean compared to a three grand bog wagon.
A nicer colour might help too. Tahitian blue or that nice wb bronze colour.

It doesn't stand for Worlds Best, it stands for Why Bother.

Wouldn't call myself a hater. I had a factory v8, GTS dash Kingswood ute with a 350 Chev until a mate eventually convinced me to sell it to him. Still wish I hadn't done it but at least it's getting used and I'll keep an eye out for a Sandman ute instead, or wait until he's spent a heap of money on it and gets bored then buy/swap it back.
