I have been thinking about security for ages on the van and what sort of alarm to use. im thinking of getting an old iphone and installing software like this:
https://itunes.apple.com/sc/app/tang...345279970?mt=8
to act as remote for the stereo and then also have the "find my Iphone" app so i can get real time updates on location of the car if needed. I'm sure it would be very easy to hide a phone!
Lowlife's.
"Proud To Be An Old Fart".
to steal a vehicle from someone who has spent a lot of his time and money is a pretty low act .
Being thought of that way wouldn't enter the mind of someone who would steal something like that. The only way to find a (still complete) car that had been knocked-off is either a heap of luck (someone either reporting it or coming forward to a police request for info) or some form of tracking (GPS or phone).
Nunc est bibendum...
GPS trackers are cheap today, and lots of places to hide them in a W sized Holden. My old HJ ute used to have a front brake locking device that locked the brakes the first time they were applied. Previous owner had it stolen only to have it recovered at the first intersection near his house, left with engine running and doors open (and brakes locked)!
