I will want this device when my van is on the road. I have a deep seeded hatred for car thieves. I had a candy apple red HX Monaro and people used to drive past my house very slowly checking it out. Saying i was paranoid is an understatement. God help the person trying to steal any of my cars.....i'll flog them an inch from death then leave them tied to a tree in a forest.... bloody low lives deserve it!!

Has anybody got the ID of the van in question so we can keep an eye out for it?

No ID has come to light yet mate. It was posted on a facebook page by a guy that is not connected to the car.

I too have a deep seeded hatred for car thieves, and with good reason too. I had my pride and joy 5 litre VK Calais stolen from the Melbourne CBD about 10 years ago...
It was recovered, 10 months later, but wasn't much more than a rolling shell. Luckily the 308 was still in it and that is what started me on the hunt for a panelvan to put it in. In some ways I wish it was never recovered. After the months trying to get over it being stolen, the state in which it was returned to me hurt and upset me all over again.
Unfortunatly I don't hold much hope for this panelvan being recovered, as sad as it is to say there is very little the police will do or can do. I only hope that it can be recovered sooner rather than later, if at all... the more time passes the less likely it will be found and the less likely it will be complete.
Its a very sad story and I really feel for the owner, take it from me, it is not something that you ever get over. I can never park my van anywhere that it is not in my sight at all times...
