    Will this buff out? :)

As a bit of a pre 1980's car tragic, i'm always on the look out for that classic thats parked in some little old ladies driveway. As a delivery driver around South East QLD I still see the odd classic of all makes. Anyway saw this thing a few weeks back and took a few pics. So sad but made me think when is a car too far gone to save? Personally I think this old girl is well and truly rooted but interested in thoughts....Maybe 10 years ago perhapsMonaro 1.jpg

Any chance of getting ID plate details off it, and chassis number? I sold a HK GTS much worse than this for over $3500. The buyer came chasing me, I didn't even advertise it!

Problem is with cars this weathered, when you media blast it, you will literally blow holes into it.

Think the rest if its days are set to be a a very cool garden ornament

Grab it for glass, regulators etc. I actually need one of those front mags, looking for one of these in 14x6 HK-HG pattern! It looks like there may be some good stainless on it, and who knows what is in the boot?

I know where the car is but the owner came out when I was taking photos and asked me what the F.. I was doing. Could be the last id plate I could check :( Would it be worth any more if it was a v8 model with the engine still inside?

Maybe, but only for the bits. Not as a car.

Looks like a base model.... Its has 337 garishes and standard 5 1/2" rim on the rear.... If its been gutted an has no tags the easiest way to see if it was a Gts would be any evidence or prior evidence of the 6" spare wheel retainer bracket in the boot

As mentioned good for parts only..... Shame really

Al, it'll only have 6" spare wheel brackets if it was a V8 GTS, and even then if it is prior to about October 1968 if the 6" wheels were optioned (early V8 GTS had 5" wheels std). It has Premier/GTS tail-lights but Belmont/Kingswood/Monaro boot alloys so it could be either. The fact the interior, dash, guards and possibly boot have been removed say it is possibly the remnants of a GTS?? Maybe it was stripped for a van. I bought 2 x GTS350's once, a HT and a HG. Both had been stripped to put through vans.
