Great stuff. I've been working on a feature length screenplay for the last year revolving around this very idea titled 'Me & my Sandman', a coming of age road film that follows Paul and Scott two surfies and a delinquent teenage hitchhiker named Tory as they travel Australia's coastline in search of the perfect wave! Of course, Tory (the antagonist) turns their vacation into a journey of self discovery when Paul and Scott are confronted by things they never dreamed to doing! Might need to get this book for some more research! Has anyone brought it? Does it provide a sound platform on the culture of vanning in Australia?

Have you ever seen OZ? Crap film, but beautifully 70s. A chick like Dorothy meets 3 different knuckleheads who need a brain, courage and a heart and they go to find the wizard who is a rockn roll star quite like david Bowie. The dumb one is surfy in a van but its a ford....

My copy of the book "The Vans That Rocked" arrived yesterday.
It is quite comprehensive and looks to the a good read, with some nice images of days gone.
Somewhat Queensland orientated, but to be expected as that is where the publisher is from these days.

Even the VU-VY and VZ Sandman gets a pretty lengthy mention! That sure to amuse some... Upset others! LOL

Anyway, thought I would post that it arrived and seems to be good value for those into Vans, Vanning History etc.
